Cold Hands Race History
What started out as a friendly wager between two lifeguards has turned into the Cold Hands Paddle.
In honor of Tim O’Donnell for his hard work and dedication
to the L.A. City Lifeguards at Cabrillo Beach,
the Cold Hands Paddle saw its inaugural race in February 2002.
Every year the Cold Hands Paddle is set in the heart of the Southern Californian winter at the end of February,
when you never know what Mother Nature will have in store. He has inspired many of us to the sport of paddling and to
being the best at anything we do.
